This TV broadcast documents Chuck Mangione's first concert ever in Rio de Janeiro, in the opening night of his first Brazilian tour. He is interviewed by jazz historian/record producer Arnaldo DeSouteiro and journalist Mylena Ciribelli. Mangione, who plays flugelhorn and Fender Rhodes, leads a band that features his long time reedman Chris Vadala (sax/flute), Gordon Sheard (keyboards), Gordon Johnson (acoustic and electric bass), Joe Bonadio (drums), Billy Martin (percussion), Mark Manetta (acoustic and electric guitar), Rob Matthes (singer and guitar), and Regina Brown (singer). The repertoire includes "Chase The Clouds Away," "Children of Sanchez," "Hot Consuelo," "My Funny Valentine," "Machu Picchu," "Secrets of Love," "Sweet Cheryl Lynn," "Save Tonight For Me," and his greatest hit "Feels So Good." The TV special, directed by Gregorio Rubin, was filmed at the Rio Municipal Theater on May 9, 1986 and broadcasted for the first time on July 1st 1986.
