A young woman's struggle to keep her family together while defending her hard working husband. Katz Kradle is a short screenplay loosely based on the 1974 Harry Chapin song. A man spends his life too busy working to attend the major events in his son's life, only to find his son had grown up just like his dad, too busy to attend his father's funeral. The screenplay juxtaposes two story lines, one of a man in total darkness (John), the other of a woman (Alice) attending all of her son's life events alone, because her husband is too busy working. In the final scene we find that the John is Alice's husband and the Alice attending John's funeral. We leave it to the viewer to decide if John is in a coffin, in hell or somewhere in between.
