"The Enchantress" - She was not a classic beauty, but seductive like no other. Edvard Munch painted her, August Strindberg was consumed with hatred for her. The Norwegian Dagny Juel (1867-1901) is perhaps forgotten or unknown today but in the late 1800s in Berlin she was worshiped by the most prominent writers and artists of the time. Married to Stanislaw Przybyszewski, a Polish novelist, dramatist, and poet of the decadent naturalistic school. In 1901 Dagny Juel's dramatic death in Tbilisi echoed throughout Europe.
