Sally, a young Jewish girl, is being raised by her grandparents, Jessica and Gramps. Despite being teased by other kids for being different, she wants to celebrate Hanukkah properly. This desire is only increased after Gramps unexpectedly passes away. Jessica, remembering how it felt to be different as a kid, does her best to make Hanukkah as big and glamorous as Christmas for Sally. She is disappointed when Sally rejects her attempts for being too much like Christmas. But Sally's youthful ingenuity and courage come to the rescue with a kid's dream-sized plan to celebrate Hanukkah authentically with their community.
