The Tomato That Ate Cleveland (1976)

Three filmmakers set out to make the cheapest feature possible, pitching everything from an Ingmar Bergman ripoff to a parody of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" before deciding upon a cheapie sci-fi movie about a giant tomato wreaking havoc.
