The word "Odara" derives from the west African Niger-Congo language Yorubá word "dara", meaning "gorgeous". It is also the name of a percussionist from Bahia that lives at Morro da Coroa, a favela in Rio de Janeiro. A couple of friends/musical alumnis of his accompanies him through a common day in his life, documenting his percussion lessons, subway busking, abstract painting, home chore doings and, most importantly, his musical participation in an afrodance class.
