Technology improves so much for us, so it is natural for Anna to turn to it to improve her self-esteem. In doing so, Anna discovers that the world of virtual reality is idyllic and immersive, but it is also impersonal and disposable. As she seeks to become better in this VR self-development program, she realises that the perfection it offers would not be desirable, even if it was obtainable. It is methodical, harsh and when it becomes too connected to reality, she seeks the comfort of distance. But can escaping the addiction of being better ever be as simple as just pulling the plug?
