In the Darkroom (2013)

'In The Darkroom' is a photo film made in silent-film style and set in the Northern Ireland of 1926. It is the story of a young man who loses his true love, suddenly and tragically, when she succumbs to an epidemic. The nature of the disease requires a swift burial to limit the spread of infection, but the young man can't bear the thought of separation from his beloved so soon. Distraught, the grieving man uses his new folding camera and magnesium flashbulb to take a photographic memento of his beloved, but in the darkroom it turns out to be a memento mori.
