"This Proud City" is the title of a new 27-minute documentary showing Stockholm as a summer city on the water. Made by British director Richard Carrickford and distributed world-wide by Columbia Pictures, the film was released at the Odeon Theatre in London in 1966. The full-color picture shows glimpses of Stockholm such as seen by the foreign visitor on a nice summer's day. It emphasizes, besides the scenic beauty of the city, that Stockholm is a very modern city, bustling with life and expanding heavily. The film also presents the Capital's ties with a colorful historic past, impersonated by troubadour William Clauson as 18th-century poet Bellman and in pictures from the open-air museum Skansen and of 300-year old warship Wasa.
