On a Clear Day You Can See the Revolution from Here (2020)

An expansive journey across the remnants of Soviet industrial infrastructures that persist in the landscape of Kazakhstan. Shot on 16mm, the film traverses industrial sites developed to exploit Kazakhstan's resource wealth including mineral mines, electrical infrastructures, and nuclear facilities. Excavating the role resource extraction has played in the country's Soviet past, the film draws a line to the present and the mechanisms by which mineral wealth continues to finance political agendas in the post-independence era.
