Crete Arising (2019)

With its beautiful beaches and warm seas, the island of Crete ranks as one of the top summer vacation spots in the world. Few people realize however that Crete is a mountainous island and that it receives abundant snowfall in winter. For thousands of years, the mountains have been a way of life for the local people. Concerned that the summer tourism industry has begun to alter the traditional fabric of the island, a group of mountaineers set about to organize the first ever winter ski mountaineering race on Crete.
