Before and after the opera and during the one-hour breaks, the music journalist and Wagner expert Axel Brüggemann presented the four-hour programme "Bayreuth - The Show", live from the Green Hill. The long-time Bayreuth expert reported from the red carpet. With prominent guests and the artists he discussed Richard Wagner, his music and his life. He also took a look behind the scenes of the world-famous festival and showed it from a completely unorthodox perspective. Brüggemann welcomed the musician and presenter Ina Müller, the singer Jasper, the comedians Thomas Hermanns and Wigald Boning, the football expert and opera fan Fritz von Thurn und Taxis, Dr. Sven Friedrich, director of the Richard Wagner Museum in Bayreuth, as well as the singers René Pape, Stefan Vinke, Nadine Weissmann and Camilla Nylund, who took part in various productions at the Bayreuth Festival this summer. After the end of the live opera broadcast, Bayreuth's mayor Brigitte Merk-Erbe and participants in the new "Meistersinger" production came to Brüggemann's studio: director Barrie Kosky and the singers Anette Schwanewilms, Klaus Florian Vogt, Michael Volle and Johannes Martin Kränzle.
