Bayreuther Festspiele - Der Ring des Nibelungen (2016)

Frank Castorf's production polarized like no other Bayreuth "Ring" production in a long time. For the artistic director of the Berliner Volksbühne, oil represents the Rhine gold of our time. He therefore moves the plot of the first part of the tetralogy - "Das Rheingold" - to a petrol station on Route 66.
