The Ice Fishes evolved over 40 million years, they adapted to the the Antarctica's extreme weather conditions. Because of its transparent blood and its translucent skin it became a unique species within the animal kingdom. Manuel Novillo, an Argentine biologist, travels every year to Antarctica to investigate the reproduction of these fish that are currently in danger of extinction. There he meets Carlos "Mono" Bellisio, a technician with more than 40 Antarctic campaigns, who has seen the disappearance of many species with his own eyes.
