A Veil of Invisibility (2017)

The life struggles of one of the most controversial Mexican American transgender and her social and personal successes, widely known as Glamorous Monique. With an approximate two hundred and fifty surgical operations, Monique has managed to achieve a successful career in the Department of Correctional Service of California and has been the longest standing civil servant transgender in the United States. The documentary explores notions of gender in modern society and the inalienable right to body autonomy.
