Riddling Angels (2021)

A young man named Lucas struggles with mild autism and an abusive family environment. One day, his best friend and love interest Sara brings him camping in the Santa Cruz mountains, where Lucas experiences a supernatural and potentially extraterrestrial encounter that distorts his reality and sense of being. He hunts for confirmation of a transcendent, alien presence and in the process pulls Sara into the strangeness that he has discovered. After a near fatal fall that injures his head and nearly kills him, Lucas struggles with the decision of whether or not it is worth it to remain in his current life, and to ignore the call to explore the supernatural mystery that draws him in, which may simply be a hallucination caused by his deteriorating mental health. Sara, the only person anchoring him to the otherwise depressing circumstances of Lucas's life, frantically searches for him when Lucas goes missing, and finds that space and time are warping around her as well. She struggles to reunite with him before she fears it is too late and Lucas has made a dire decision to uncover the unnerving truth of the past 24 hours.
