Odnazhdy nochyu (1960)

Kazakhstan. Day and night, in the scorching heat and in a fierce snowstorm, drivers drive their cars. Once a column of grain fell into a blizzard. The column by chance get to Pobeda, and in it - the artist Shaltay - his wife and child. Here, a meeting takes place between the driver Kemel and Tana, his ex-wife. Saving people and grain, Kemel with other daredevils goes to the district center. Tana makes Shaltay go too. Shaltay pretends to be sick. Drivers are forced to return. People in the column are struggling with the snowy elements. They are being sought, thought of. When the sun, barely breaking through due to the clouds hanging over the earth, illuminated cars wrapped in snow cover, residents of neighboring auls came to them. Soon the cars set off. This disturbing night has ended. People measured their strengths not only with nature. They were measured with each other by the power of feelings, fidelity and love. And Shaltay turned out to be the weakest - a random companion of these kind and brave people. Tana understood all this on the road, next to Kemel, whom she only now recognized and truly fell in love with.
