For thousands of years, Hawaiians have told stories of the sacred mountain Mauna Kea, the birthplace of the gods. Now, Mauna Kea finds itself at the center of an unfolding controversy. The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) was going to be built on the mountain, its proponents arguing that the summit is one of the best places in the world to see the stars. However, activists set up camp in the road to prevent its construction, arguing that they had to protect their heritage. The clock is ticking and the stalemate can't last forever. But two women, one on each side, feel that they are doing what they must do.
