A coroner's assistant, David (David Welborn), is called out to retrieve the body of a young girl who OD'd in a field, but becomes entrapped by his guilt to comfort a family member of the deceased. Tormented by the emotional weight of his job, he turns to the bottle to numb his pain. David finds himself baring his cynical outlook on death, but in a twist is unsure if he's simply explaining this to someone or convincing himself. Are his outbursts justified, or is he just an out of control drunk serving an emotionally exhausting job?
