Documentary of the Yoruba women potters in the Dada Compound in Ilorin, Nigeria. The video shows the entire process from working the clay to the dramatic "open field" firing of more than 1,000 pots, including koko amu huge, perfectly symmetrical water vessels made without a potter's wheel. The women and girls, ages 5 to 65, work at their profession from dawn to dusk, year-round. The film begins with the black and white still images of pottery housed in a National Museum, and then has film with narration of work being done by the women potters.
