Cometan's Ancestral Stories

Cometan has been exploring both his maternal and paternal ancestral heritage since his teenage years, but after years of research, he intends to consult experts in the field of genealogy to illuminate him further regarding who his ancestors were, what they did, and even, in some cases, what they became famous for. Cometan's ancestry in centered in the county of Lancashire, England but expands out to Ireland, Cheshire, and Yorkshire the further back the line is taken, particularly in his paternal lines. Cometan wants to explore his Irish heritage in particular which he himself has traced back to Fermanagh County. This film follows Cometan on his journey to make sense of some ancestral mysteries he has come across in his research which finds Cometan looking into medieval documents, visiting old churchyards, and consulting with experts as he continues his hunt for answers. What he discovers about some of his ancestors is simply fascinating and is likely to shape his own personal and professional identity in the contemporary. There are plenty of mysteries to uncover on this ancestral journey of family heritage, especially focusing on what the professions, religious affiliations, and places of burial of those most interesting of Cometanic ancestors. With this film, Cometan hopes to inspire others to engage with genealogy and to explore their own ancestral heritages. He also wants to understand what the lives of his ancestors were like and to try and grasp their personalities, perhaps as a way to make connections to and answers questions about his own mentality, behavior, and religious experiences in modern times.
