In a bedroom overlooking the moonlit Welsh Valleys, Joe Mason works on a piece of artwork and recalls the events that led to it - the evening of his 21st Birthday. Suddenly we join Joe on a journey back through his recent tumultuous past as he relives it. Gradually it is revealed Joe has been been diagnosed him with a condition that will soon turn him totally blind, all the while reeling from a rejection to study at Art School. It's seems Joe's dreams are crumbling around him. Finding himself lost up the mountains of his hometown, he stumbles upon a large, hidden bluebell wood. Struck by raw beauty of his surroundings in the midst of his darkest hour, he is overcome with emotion. The next day he returns to capture the 'Bluebell' scene. In the final moments, he finds himself closing his eyes and painting from a new perspective.
