Space and Affect is an investigative essay documentary that presents subjective ideas behind how spaces affect mood and creativity. Using a selection of single frame compositions, myriad film formats and an original score, this documentary gives the audience an insight into the film's director, how he is affected by his surroundings and how they affect his creativity. Non-linear in sequence, the film explores different spaces, both presently and latterly experienced, and the affects caused by their inhabitation. As these settings are navigated so are the various feelings of nostalgia, anxiety and euphoria as they arise. Experimental and self-reflexive in nature, this piece illustrates the affect spaces have on us as human beings, delving deep into the subconscious to try to discover the best environments in which to work to achieve the best channel of creativity.
