The Global Lottery

Set in an alternative reality where overpopulation has lead to an extreme culling system known as The Global Lottery, which gives each citizen a random number dictating how long they will live beyond their 18th birthday. When Eve comes of age she is given only seven days to live- something that neither she nor her parents can come to terms with.
