In this show our talk show host Caitlin welcomes her Auntie Nicole, Chantal's sister, to the family couch to discuss the real intent of the original book, Broadway show and Academy award winning film titled the The Wizard of OZ. In this show the family members discuss the historical metaphors and social groups the characters represented in the original book written by L. Frank Baum. The Scarecrow represented the American farmers and their troubles in the late 19th century. The Tin Man represented the industrial workers of the American steel industries. The Cowardly Lion was a metaphor for William Jennings Bryan, US Secretary of State for President Woodrow Wilson. The Yellow brick road represented gold currency. The cyclone was an 1890 metaphor for a political revolution that would transform the drab country into a land of color and unlimited prosperity.
