In the small Danish, provincial town of Viborg it's business as usual. Teenagers test their boundaries behind the petrol station, truck drivers take a break at the cafeteria, and drugs and boredom are lurking beneath the surface. Here we meet two generations of women each living their own lonely reality. Isolated in her apartment, 61-year-old Solvej battles with obesity, social exclusion and failing health, supplementing her early retirement benefits by selling her prescription drugs to other locals. The neighbor's 17-year-old daughter, rootless and rebellious Kate doesn't know what to make of herself and is overcome with boredom. The prospect of some easy money leads her to unsuccessfully break into Solvej's apartment, dropping her phone on her way out. This meeting kickstarts a game of who cheats who, and a reluctant and unlikely friendship takes root, as the wounds of the past are revealed and the seeds of hope are sown.
