Encircled (2021)

LINDA HARPER, mid 60s, packs up items from her late father's house. While rummaging through items in the garage, she listens to a voicemail from her son, ELI, who asks for space now that he is in college. Linda finds a clear box of trains. She wanders to a nearby forest with the trains and sets up the train track, only to realize that she is missing a single piece. As she plays with the train, Linda reminisces about her parent's marital issues, reflecting on the time when her father left her. The memories climax as the train falls off the track. Linda goes back to the garage and finds the missing track piece. Back in the forest, Linda clicks the last piece into place. She starts to play with the train once again, except this time, she is at peace. She pulls out her phone and navigates to the contact for Eli Harper. She hovers over the "call" button.
