In the Struggle: Assatta's Words & Kristy's Paint (2013)

In the Struggle Assatta's Words and Kristy's Paint tells the story of the muralist Kristy Sandoval as she pursue's one of her dreams-to paint a mural about Assata Shakur, a Black activist and former Black Panther Party member. Not only does the mural pay tribute to this amazing and strong woman, but also stands as a symbol of women's rightful place in the struggle for justice. In addition, the mural provides a glimpse into Pacoima's black history.
