This is a film about the life and times and eventual decision of Irish resistance fighter Bobby Sands to eventually join the Irish Republican Army and then undergo fasting rather than agree to be labeled any kind of criminal by the British judicial system. It will detail much of his early life and his experiences that molded his view and it will then proceed to detail his decision to join the Irish Republican Army and after his incarceration, his decision to undergo fasting and his eventual death. The film will also detail in graphic display how the process of starvation devastates the body and how the entire process does in fact cause terrible harm and suffering. The point is to show emphatically to viewers the genuine pain and suffering that Bobby Sands was forced to endure. It will also show the geopolitics involving the decision that surrounded the decision by establishment figures to let Sands starve himself to death rather than openly grant status that would have saved his life. This film will be longer than most feature films and it will show the reality of the process of starvation. It will also show the aftermath and funeral of Bobby Sands.
