Death Hike (2021)

A group of friends embarks on a weekend camping trip, expecting adventure, fresh air, and a break from their everyday lives. They are successful, confident, and comfortable in their world--until they step into the unknown. Among them is Marcus, a respected doctor, and his sharp-tongued wife Danielle, who has a way of keeping him under her thumb. Without telling their friend Jason, they have arranged a blind date for him, hoping the trip will lead to something more. Also along are Kevin and Bryce, a couple whose contrasting personalities--one tough and practical, the other playful and dramatic--keep things interesting. Then there's Stacy, a pretty, bubbly, and girly Japanese woman who loves a bit of adventure but is happiest being the doting girlfriend. She clings to her boyfriend Dante, a confident and protective presence who makes sure she feels safe. Leading the trip is Warren, an experienced outdoorsman, though his wife's sudden absence lingers as an unspoken question. The forest surrounds them with towering trees and endless quiet. At first, it feels like an escape--pure, untouched nature. But the stillness begins to feel unnatural. There's something off about this place. The feeling is subtle at first. A strange presence.
