An animated film which considers the lives of two identical twins who develop completely different personalities from the same home environment. Provides a comment on the leveling power of American society. "Clifford and Lionel's mother and father were concerned about their differences in behavior. Clifford always seemed reserved and insecure but Lionel was overly zealous and aggressive." Thus, the voice of the psychologist/narrator introduces this animated fable, gently satirizing contemporary life-styles and mores. He shows that trying to squeeze people into molds often backfires in surprising ways. Attempts to correct the boys' characters as children (like giving toys at Xmas to shy Clifford and a pile of horse manure to cocksure Lionel) fizzle out and they grow up predictably.
