Madness in the Method (2020)

Told through a series of flashbacks, this is a dark comedy that follows Lulu (Vanessa Schaefer) as she strives to discover her voice as a writer. When her new novel is harshly rejected, Lulu has a week to write a new one. Plagued by writer's block, she tumbles into a downward spiral. Attempting to walk the same path as her literary heroes, Lulu indulges in LSD, alcohol and even tries to sell her soul. She is rejected once again - this time by the devil. In a bid to hold onto her sanity, she eventually concludes that she'll have to experience the life of her characters to write about them. Are her methods crazy, or genius?
