A Swiss film crew is looking for the meaning of a life without wage labor in Athens, Greece. In interviews, those still affected by the economic crisis are telling the filmmakers how a life without capitalism might be possible. But soon the director Anna-Sabrina Dankbar (played by Nina Mariel Kohler) realizes that the social projects filmed are not extreme enough. The producer Georg Schüttel (played by Christoph Keller) wants to manipulate the film material to give the documentary a more dramatic touch. The local Maria Drossou (played by Cleopatra Markou), who was hired as a translator by the film crew, does not approve of the false representation of her compatriots. At the end, the whole film project threatens to fail.
