In dubbio (2020)

The story is about a very topical subject: an esteemed university professor and famous portraitist is accused of having committed sexual harassement thirty years earlier. The man is sure he hasn't done anything like that, but the next day one of his female students blames him for improper advances. The University immediately abandoned him, like his colleagues and his family, who don't believe him. He's left alone until an unexpected encounter overturns the seeming situation and leads him into an uncertain future. The short film deals with the social issue of violence against women, linked to the protests of the #MeToo movement, and it's about the doubt and suspicion, the weight of some accusations and their consequences on a respectable man, the role of family and friends in the current society; it shows how easy it is to ruin a person's life, but also the ambiguity and secrets that it can hide.
