Morta (2020)

A young women obsessed with the occult and the other side, decides to stay in a house already possessed by many tormented spirits. As she allows herself to succumb to her trance, she goes deeper into a realm that has no basis in reality but somehow is able to transform her into her other self. In Roman mythology, Morta was the goddess of death. She is one of the Parcae, related to the Roman conception of the Fates in Greek mythology, the Moirai. Her Greek equivalent is Atropos. She is responsible for the pain and/or death that occur in a half-wake, half-sleep time frame. Her father is the god of darkness and her mother is the goddess of night. She visits and warns in advance of the pain and/or death about to be endured. It seems that once you enter this dimension, you will never return. However the line between fear and desire can be on and the same, for once here, your perception of your own identity is not clear. She has no way to escape this random nightmare world but who says she necessarily wants to?
