The Katabasis (2020)

What would you do with a second chance? This is the central question behind the story of The Katabasis. Theodore is a struggling artist mired in a creative rut, watching as the world passes him by. His friends are moving forward and upward with their lives, while Theodore cannot seem to get going. It's in this dark place that Theodore begins the story of The Katabasis. When a surprise visit from longtime flame Vanessa kickstarts a series of events culminating in a tragic accident, Theodore must learn how to live again. But supernatural forces linger in the background playing dice with his life and things may not be what they seem. The Katabasis was funded by a #TelusStoryHive grant and is intended as the first episode of a larger web series. It was filmed in the city of Calgary with #localfilm makers on a small #indie budget. This film marks the directorial and writing debut of Indigenous Film Maker Brandon Wilson. The Katabasis was selected as a Semi-Finalist at the Montreal Independent Film Festival.
