The Jackal Always Rings Twice (2022)

Contemporary Constanta, on the Black Sea Coast of Romania. Two retired friends, Geo, a former choreographer from the Constanta Casino, and Vali, an ex-secret services officer, set out to recoup cash from a corrupt money-changer, but things take a quick U-turn at a Tango Salon when they take a man hostage who Vali swears is the infamous 70's Venezuelan terrorist, Carlos the Jackal. The two friends conspire to sell Carlos back to the French Embassy for a profit before his escape from prison can become breaking news on CNN. But is this actually the real "Carlos the Jackal"? Geo and Vali must figure this out fast before the tabloid press discovers the hostage crisis and turns the incident into a bad-taste freak show; or even worse, before the government orders an anti-terrorist squad to storm the Tango Salon.
