Jeanny - The Fifth Girl (2022)

In a tranquil small town near Vienna, girls between the ages of 18 and 20 have been disappearing without a trace at ever shorter intervals. The population is concerned and accuses the police of incompetence. Because Commissioner Degener got no further, a citizens' initiative was formed to protect young people. When the 19-year-old student Jeanny, who is still looking for her place in her family and society, meets the mysterious but charming tax consultant Johannes, this encounter is initially threatening. But Johannes sees so much more in Jeanny than just an innocent girl. And he gives Jeanny, who lost her father at a young age, support and recognition. He helps her to pass the Matura, he awakens her self-confidence and gives her the appreciation that she misses. An unusual love grows between the two, which is initially kept secret from everyone. But when Jeanny discovers that Johannes has been spying on her, that he has secretly photographed her and that he is not who she thought he was, her distrust grows. She finds out that there is a dark secret in Johannes' past and gets caught up in a conflict between compassion, love and distrust. When Jeanny's best friend Luzia disappears, suspicion falls on Johannes. The atmosphere of distrust and fear intensifies, the angry and frightened citizens want someone to blame and everything speaks against Johannes. Jeanny is torn between her fear for her best friend and her concern that an innocent man, her great love, will be made the scapegoat. Her desire to do the right thing puts her in grave danger.
