A Goodly Apple centers around one fateful meeting. Razor-sharp computer scientist Tom has developed an algorithm that can "detect falsehoods in online discourse". Or in other words "it can tell when people are lying on the internet". An invention that could change the course of contemporary society. But as he sits between a representative of his university, focused solely on "Money Tom, Money" and a sinister figure from the "Home Office", it dawns on Tom that, in the wrong hands, his invention could help reinforce the very thing he has set out to destroy.
