Väntan (2003)

Väntan / Suspended State - A short poetic dance film about the suspended state of late pregnancy. A dancer, eight months pregnant, reflects on the unknown reality she's facing during a solitary afternoon in her house. Fragments of documentary conversations with other women about having or choosing not to have children, seep in as if they were the dancer's memories. In stillness and motion she expresses her anticipation, loss, anger and awe. In making her altered body dance she comes to terms with this life changing rite of passing.
