"De Roep van de Woestijn" is a documentary about the adventurers Loek and Jim Vermeulen. Twin brother who have been adventurously traveling on the African continent for over 50 years. A special duo with an unusual history. Starting a crazy adventure in 1969 to travel over 60.000 Kilometers through the coastal lands of the African continent in three little cars. The fell in love with the desert and continue their travels later on but now with big MAN Kat1 trucks to seek adventure and provide charity to the poor nomadic people of the Sahara. During a journey through the Sahara of Mauritania, we meet the twin brothers and learn where their deep-rooted passion for the desert comes from. A story of mischief, adventure and charity.
