A Big Week in September (2021)

A unique insight into 2020 'back to school' life and the highs and lows of a number of schools. Returning to or starting in school is challenging for all involved at the best of times - in a COVID world it's exceptionally so. As teachers joined the Covid-19 front-line, we asked parents, students and schools all over Ireland to document their first week of school re-opening to give us an insight into the reality of what the new normal means to them. The resulting programme gives us a unique insight into 2020 'back to school' life and the highs and lows of a number of schools including Abbey Community College, Boyle, St. Dominic's College, Ballyfermot and Coláiste Éamann Rís in Cork City. The documentary is a fascinating insight into what will go down as a momentous week in the history of the Irish education system.
