Sir Walter Scott: Celebrating 250 Years (2021)

To launch the international celebrations for the 250th anniversary of Sir Walter Scott, Smailholm Tower is lit up during a spectacular light show created by artist and director, Andy McGregor. Presented by Brian Taylor, former BBC correspondent and past president of the Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club, this broadcast features well known Scott fans including award-winning author and presenter Damian Barr, Scottish history Professor Sir Tom Devine, TV present, author and journalist Kirsty Wark and Outlander author Diana Gabaldon. This launch event was funded by EventScotland and organised by Abbotsford, home of Sir Walter Scott, on behalf of the international Walter Scott 250 partnership.
