Cattolica, June 1944. With the help of two soldiers, the partisans manage to steal weapons belonging to the fascists. The fascist retaliation is brutal as farmers, innocent people and comrades are persecuted. Amongst these are two young Republicans, Domenico Rasi and Vanzio Spinelli.
