At thirty-nine, Sunny Dagenais discovers that he was born intersex. An intersex person has the biological attributes of both sexes or lacks some of the biological attributes considered necessary to be defined as one sex or another. Sunny breaks the silence for himself and for the thousands of children born intersex. In an intimate pilgrimage in search of his identity, Sunny allows us to discover an extraordinary community. A community that agrees to open up despite the rejection they face and who is fighting to end gender assignment surgeries on newborns. We discover that all over the world voices are being raised to stop these genital mutilations. This documentary has created a significant sense of belonging among participants from Germany, South Africa, China and Canada.
