Storyline:  Alfonso, an aging farmer, returns after 17 years to care for his gravely ill son. At his old home, he reunites with the woman who was once his wife, their daughter-in-law, and grandson. Surrounded by sugarcane fields that rain ash like a wasteland, Alfonso struggles to rejoin the family he abandoned and to save what remains.
