The Young Elizabeth (1953)

Following the death of her father King Henry VIII in 1547, young Elizabeth Tudor is thrust into a world of violent intrigue as her brother and sister successively take the throne. The play follows her devious, brilliant struggles to keep her head while all about her are losing theirs. Her political instincts see her though until news arrives that she has acceded to the throne and is Queen Elizabeth the First.
