The documentary follows a series of interviews and dramatization depicting the lives of Lady Mary Rosse and Mary Ward who had outstanding successes in the fields of science in the Victorian age. Lady Mary Rosse was proprietor of the Birr Leviathan Telescope, the largest telescope in the world, she was also an architect, pioneer photographer and blacksmith. Her friend, Mary Ward was a science writer, microscopist and astronomer, studying through the telescope and noting her findings. The documentary shows the original works of the ladies, where they lived, their original photographic equipment and original material from the age throughout.
