Aelita (1980)

In 1922, engineer Losz looking for a companion to Mars as he had previously received mysterious radio signals from the Red Planet. Team up with Guszev, an ex-soldier, this individualist dreamer heads to the foreign planet. The climate is surprisingly human-friendly, but they have to fear of giant spider attacks time to time. They meet Aelita, the daughter of Tuszkub, the ruler of a totalitarian state on Mars in which the working class are put into cold storage when they are not needed. Losz and Guszev both find love and death there.
