A number of films have been made on various impacts of environmental degradation and some that focus on the population or the tribal people affected by these problems. Hur-e Douragh , directed by Hamid Tamjidi, follows people who live along a river in Khouzestan region and use it for their livelihood. Hamid Tamjidi made this film about the people and tribes who live along the Jarrahi River and the Shadegan Marshland, which won a prize at the Fajr film festival.
